Rules for Playing

FOTO FEUD can be played by two or more players ages 8 to adult. Play begins with deck face down on table.  Players take turns drawing until four pictures/action cards are in front of them to begin building their Foto Feud puzzle. Only four cards are allowed in one puzzle, two cards on top and two underneath. After the four cards are drawn, players take turns drawing from the deck and either swapping the card drawn into their puzzle or discarding. Picture cards are discarded in rows face up. Action cards i.e., I’ll Take That, Bring It Back and Foto Swap cards are discarded in a separate deck from picture cards.  A player may on their turn, choose instead of drawing to pick up the last picture card discarded.

I’ll Take That cards are used to take another player’s picture or action card. When it is drawn from the deck, the card may not be used until next turn.  If a player has an extra Bonus Foto puzzle, the card may be placed in either puzzle in an empty space.

Bring It Back cards are used to retrieve picture cards that have been discarded. If a Bring It Back card is drawn from the deck it must be discarded or placed/traded into a puzzle and cannot be used until next turn. A player may pick up the last picture card in the discard row without this card.

Bonus Foto cards – When a Bonus Foto card is drawn, it is placed in front of the player as permission to begin building another four part Foto Feud puzzle.  The card is not part of a puzzle and cannot be taken away by another player.  When building the second puzzle do not discard until the additional Bonus Foto puzzle has been filled with four cards.  Only one Bonus Foto card per player. A separate turn is required to move a card or trade cards from one puzzle to the other. A newly drawn card must go to an empty space, if there is one available.

Foto Swap cards – When a player draws a Foto Swap card it must be immediately used.  A player chooses to swap one of their Foto Feud puzzles for another player’s puzzle or can choose not to swap. It is to be immediately discarded and can not be saved for later play. If a player wishes to swap it must be one entire puzzle for another player’s entire puzzle.  Neither puzzle has to have four cards but must contain at least one.

In the event the whole deck has been drawn, shuffle the action card pile, turn face down, and begin drawing from this deck.

Strategize – Watch other player’s Foto Feud puzzle building.  If you see they have three matched cards of a puzzle…use your I’ll Take That card to steal one of them!

If you see an opponents picture card discarded and they have a Bring It Back card….use your I’ll Take That card to     steal their Bring It Back card.  If they have an I’ll Take That card and you have one of their matching picture     cards…..discard that picture.  If it’s not the last picture card discarded it will delay them until they can get a Bring It      Back card! The first player to make a complete four part Foto Feud puzzle wins!

 Quick Tips

 · When a player draws an I’ll Take That or Bring It Back card, the card can’t be played until the players next turn.

 ·  Bonus Foto:  When a Bonus Foto card is drawn,  place it to the side as permission to begin a second, four card photo
puzzle. It is not a part of a puzzle and cannot be taken by another player.

·  Bonus Foto: When one puzzle contains four cards and the other puzzle has an empty space,  a new card drawn or
picture card picked up from the discard row  cannot  be traded into the full puzzle. It must  be placed into the puzzle with an
    empty space.

 · If a player has two puzzles and uses one of their I’ll Take That or Bring It Back cards, the acquired card must be
placed back into the same puzzle. The newly acquired card cannot be transferred to the other puzzle within the same turn.

 ·  Foto Swap: When this card is drawn….you may choose to use or not use the card  but the choice must be made
immediately and the card discarded.  It cannot  be saved for later play.  You do not have to swap a puzzle.  One  whole puzzle
is  traded for another player's whole puzzle.  A puzzle can be any number of cards but must be at least one card. You can
trade a one card puzzle for any other  player’s whole puzzle.

There are 12 Foto Feud puzzles in the original game and 10 puzzles in the customized version.  For two person
playing - you may choose to remove some of the puzzles for faster play.
